FAQs
Does acupuncture hurt?
Most individuals feel nothing at all, but some may feel slight discomfort on insertion. Common sensations around the needle include tingling, heaviness, or electrical sensation at the insertion site. These sensations are good, and signal that the treatment is working. After the treatment you may feel energized or relaxed with a sense of well-being[1]. Often patients become so relaxed that they sleep during treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
Each patient is unique and responds differently, so the number and frequency of treatments will vary from patient to patient. The number of treatments needed to address a specific health concern depends upon your body constitution and the duration, severity, and nature of your complaint. An acute condition may only need a few treatments while a chronic complaint may need a series of treatments. Six to ten treatments is average. Since treatments address the health of the whole body, many people seek regular treatment to maintain good health and as a preventative measure.
Will my insurance cover treatment? / How much will it cost?
Currently no insurance is accepted, but a personalized form with CPT and ICD-10 codes can be provided for patient submission to their insurance for reimbursement.
